We started inside a national bank with a big idea. That idea has since processed billions in secure payments across the globe.
SurePay started in 2016 as a Rabobank incubation project, building IBAN-Name Check to stop payment fraud and misdirected payments at the source.
Within a year, we connected 99.5% of Dutch banks to our Verification of Payee API, sharing data over a secure connection.
We adapted our solution for the UK, launching Confirmation of Payee and reaching 90% coverage there.
With SEPAmail.eu and StreamMind, we launched the first cross-border Verification of Payee check, linking 30+ Dutch banks and 114 French banks.
We partnered with CBI S.c.p.a. and Swift, extending Verification of Payee to Italian and European account holders and integrating with Swift's Payment Pre-validation service.
We launched the IBAN-Name Check Portal, letting companies verify payment details for customers, suppliers, and employees anytime, day or night.
CEC selected SurePay to deliver Verification of Payee for Belgium's banks, on behalf of Febelfin, following a competitive tender.
Denmark became the first non-Euro country to roll out VOP nationwide, well ahead of its 2027 deadline. With a team of 135+, we connected every EU-mandated country before the October 2025 deadline.
